Exploring food encourages children to learn through sensory experiences, hands-on activities and working together to create delicious results. Children will have the freedom to explore thanks to our unique "food neutral" approach to teaching about food.
I am Katie Shepherd, a Registered Dietitian and graduate of UCONN's Coordinated Program in Dietetics. And most importantly, the owner and founder of Food Explorers.
My passion for working with children and food has been a dream of mine for a long time. After spending time at WIC, counseling young families about healthy eating, and also as a Retail Dietitian, I've combined all my skills and passions into Food Explorers.
Our unique Food Neutral approach to our classes allows children to explore and eat foods without a side of guilt. Our goal is to help children develop a positive relationship with food away from the pressures of diet culture.
